Dinner cruise proposal under Amsterdam’s lucky Skinny Bridge

Dinner cruise proposal under Amsterdam

Jess and Cori met on Instagram in the Spring of 2017. They spoke every day for three months until Jess finally decided to fly from Seattle to Arkansas to meet Cori in person.

“The moment I saw her, I felt so much joy and excitement,” Cori says. “Much more so than I ever felt with just a friend. Moments after I met her, I asked her if I could hold her hand. I was so nervous and had butterflies but luckily for me, she said, ‘yes!’”

The couple dated long distance for 10 months until Cori moved to Seattle to be with Jess.

Jess proposed to Cori in August 2019, and two months later, Cori decided to propose back to Jess in Amsterdam, at the end of a 2-week trip to Europe.

“I booked a private boat cruise through the canals of Amsterdam with a 3-course romantic dinner on board. Jess has always loved boats so I knew I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. We were passing under the Skinny Bridge when I dropped to one knee. Legend says that if you kiss under the Skinny Bridge, you will have a lifetime of love together. It was absolutely perfect and she said, ‘YES!’ We continued our boat cruise and then concluded the night by staying in a fancy hotel overlooking the beautiful city of Amsterdam.”

A gorgeous proposal on the shores of Lake Michigan

A gorgeous proposal on the shores of Lake Michigan

“Joanna’s the perfect mix of beautiful, funny, charismatic, sweet and sassy,” says fiancée Amanda.

Joanna proposed to Amanda on the shores of Lake Michigan while the couple was on a trip to Chicago.

“A few of our closest friends tagged along, but I thought nothing of it,” Amanda says. “We travel often. We walked along Lake Michigan and Joanna asked me,  ‘Can you take your coat off so we can get an awesome photograph?’ I replied, ‘It’s cold out!’ I proceeded to take of my jacket off though. As her sister and her sister’s boyfriend snapped a gorgeous picture, Joanna got down on one knee. I immediately said yes. Spending the rest of my life with this woman will always and forever be my greatest adventure.”

Amanda and Joanna will marry on April 2, 2022, at Renault Winery in New Jersey.

From Instagram DMs to engaged: A Miami proposal

From Instagram DMs to engaged: A Miami proposal

Dani and Shannen started dating on Jan. 24, 2020, after meeting on Instagram. One year later, on Jan. 22, 2021, they were engaged! We love how Dani got her friend, a photographer, in on the plan so the proposal was captured forever in pictures. Read on for more about this couple’s beach engagement in Miami, Florida.

HOW DID YOU MEET?

Shannen and I met on Instagram. We are both fitness instructors. Shan living in Philly and myself living in Miami. The story as to who followed who remains a mystery. Our story starts with a simple DM. Shannen slid right into my DMs commenting on my story about a new pair of sunglasses. We started liking each others posts and messaging back and forth. The DMs lead to texts, the texts lead to FaceTime, and before you knew it I was on a flight to Philly to meet this incredible lady.

WHO PROPOSED AND HOW?

Shannen was down in Miami celebrating our anniversary. We frequently take photos together when we are together so I suggested to Shannen that we do a photoshoot with my friend. We settled on a hotel right on the beach that has beautiful views of the ocean. My friend was in on the plan and asked Shannen to step into the frame for a test shot. She directed Shannen to face the ocean so her back would be turned towards me. That was my cue to slide into place and down on one knee. She asked Shannen to turn around and there I was down on one knee. Shannen was shocked we both cried and laughed. After what felt like many minutes Shannen yelled “duh.” It has always been obvious to us that we were soulmates.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT EACH OTHER?

We love the support we have for one another. Being in a long distance relationship requires communication, understanding, and support.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN YOUR MARRIAGE?

Being in the same city! We can’t wait to come home to one another each day, lay some roots down, and start building a family.

Sunset proposal in Matera, Italy

Sunset proposal in Matera, Italy

Thinking about marrying my best friend gives me those heart warming feels I’ve always dreamed of feeling. Chloe and I met at vet school nine years ago and after five years of a wonderful friendship we suddenly found ourselves in unfamiliar territory being in love with each other. Thankfully all these new feelings were mutual!! We knew we had found something special in each other and we also knew that we would be spending the rest of our lives together no matter what. We are currently having the time of our lives traveling around Europe and working in the UK as vets. I knew I wanted to propose to Chloe while on one of our many sunrise/sunset adventures where we always find ourselves saying “isn’t this the best moment ever?!”

I was carrying the ring around in my flimsy travel bag waiting for that right moment. I had no real plan, I just knew it had to be at a time where we were both feeling so happy to be experiencing a beautiful moment together. This moment came in Matera, a beautiful town in the south of Italy. We arrived and the sun was setting, we were blown away by the beauty of the town and so went in search for a bottle of wine (not easy in a town that resembles a maze!). We found a small local bar that sold us one of their bottles and uncorked it for us and we raced back to find a secluded view point to watch the sunset. We found a little platform with no one else around. While overlooking the town we watched the most beautiful sunset and then watched as the town’s lights came on and the night set in. In that moment we both couldn’t stop smiling and felt so happy to be experiencing such a wonderful night. I knew it was the moment. I poured Chloe another glass of wine, reached in my bag and then promised her I would love her for the rest of my life and asked her would she marry me and spend the rest of her life loving me. Of course she said yes. There were many tears from us both and our wonderful moment just became the greatest moment of our lives to date! —Olivia (Liv) Lemmon

Surprise proposal by the shore in Miami, Florida

Lisana thought they were starting a regular day of work. The Miami, Florida, couple needed to shoot a sales video for their side project. It was business as usual to dress up and schedule a videographer. Little did Lisana know that Regina had planned a surprise proposal.

They started shooting their sales video at South Pointe Park, an urban park with panoramic views of the shoreline. They stood on the rock jetty with the ocean in the background. Lisana was getting a little irritated with Regina, however. Although the couple had memorized scripts for the shoot, Regina could only remember a few lines. But Regina was nervous for other reasons.

In the middle of the shoot, the videographer suggested the pair try something different. The videographer asked the couple to stand back-to-back, then began filming. Lisana turned around and… Regina was on one knee.

“I completely froze,” Lisana told Equally Wed. When she looked up, all of their friends and family were surrounding them. Of course, Lisana said yes.

A few minutes later, a rainbow appeared in the sky.

Regina had planned a luxury yacht ride after with a private chef and a saxophone player to set the mood. The couple spent the rest of the day cruising on the water. Lisana told Equally Wed: “It was the best day of my life!”

Viral video of gay proposal has reduced Twitter to a weeping mess

Gay couple Brandon and Cody TikTok Twitter proposal marriage

A viral video of a guy surprise proposing to his boyfriend has turned us into a blubbering, weeping mess – and serves as a timely reminder that there are good things in the world.

In the video, Cody distracted his boyfriend Brandon by asking him to look at something in the distance. He then quickly got down on one knee and pulled out a ring.

Brandon promptly burst into tears and struggled to get any words out – but he eventually put out his hand for his new fiancé to put the ring on his finger.

The video was recorded in August of last year and shared on TikTok, but blew up on Twitter last week after it was shared on the last day of Pride Month.

Twitter was reduced to tears by the heartwarming, beautiful proposal video.

“Oh my god I’m crying. Beautiful,” one Twitter user commented.

Another person said: “I wish there was a ‘love’ button on Twitter because this is SO beautiful and sweet! Congratulations boys! I hope you have a very long and happy life together!”

I guess you could say, it was such a perfect relationship, they both knew right away and Cody got down on one knee on August 17, 2019 and asked Brandon for his hand in marriage.

Someone else simply said: “Yes you made us all cry!”

Cody and Brandon are now planning to tie the knot on October 24 of this year, according to TheKnot.com.

It was love at first sight when Cody and Brandon met for the first time in March 2019.

On the website, the couple describe their love story as being “not quite like any other”.

They met on Instagram in December 2017 and started “frequently chatting”.

The pair quickly became online friends and they finally met for the first time in March 2019.

When Cody visited Brandon in Virginia, it was love at first sight.

“I guess you could say, it was such a perfect relationship, they both knew right away and Cody got down on one knee on August 17, 2019 and asked Brandon for his hand in marriage,” the website says.

The couple are planning on having two children together and will live in North Carolina, where Cody pratices law.
